CLYDE E. RICE OBITUARY

Clyde E. Rice, 70, of Suffield, beloved husband of Barbara (Belliveau) Rice, peacefully passed away February 21, 2018. Born in Calais, Maine, son of the late Thurman Rice Jr. and Grace (Burke) Rice. Clyde served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a cabinet maker for Ricketson Sash & Door Company of Avon, retiring with 38 years of service. He loved the outdoors; and enjoyed time on the Cape and in Maine with family. He enjoyed running, biking, road races and he was an avid reader of the Journal Inquirer and the Hartford Courant. He was also a UCONN men’s and woman’s basketball fan. However, Clyde’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and enjoying family activities. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter; Jennifer Knapp (Steve) of Higganum, his step-daughters; Lynelle Kuzontkoski (Chad) of Suffield and Kristen Lefferts of Brooklyn, NY., his grandchildren; Emma Knapp and Calvin Kuzontkoski, his sisters; Jackie Dutko (Jake) of Westfield, MA, Patricia Roy of Theodore, AL and Brenda Colburn of Windham, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. His family will receive friends Saturday February 24, 2018 from 11am-12pm at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East Street N, Suffield. A memorial service will begin at 12:00pm. Burial with military honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Clyde’s memory can be made to the Emergency Aid Association, 450 South St., Suffield, CT 06078.
